Kano State Televsion was established in 1981 as an information body. In the year 1982, Kano State Television Corporation came to existence and popularly known as CTV-67. It was renamed Abubakar Rimi Televsion after its founder and the first civilian governor of Kano state. In January 2014, Haj. Sa’a Ibrahim became Managing Director of the Station and it was elevated to Director General in 2018. During these years (2014-2019) the station achieved 95% digital migration. The station also transmit simultaneously on radio at 101.1fm. The Corporation also has Sub-station at Tudun Wada Local Government Area.
